Cheryl Procter-Rogers is an award-winning PR and business strategist and executive coach with over 40 years of experience. She currently serves as an executive coach and associate director at Ernst & Young's Americas Coaching Practice, where she provides thought leadership and coaching to senior leaders at the firm. Cheryl is known for her expertise in executive and crisis communications, strategic planning, change management, and media relations.
She served as national President and CEO of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), became the youngest inductee in PRSA's College of Fellows, and is a recipient of the Gold Anvil Award for her significant contributions to the field. She has been a trusted advisor to C-Suite executives, helping them navigate complex challenges to enhance leadership, communication, and business goals.
Cheryl established A Step Ahead in 1986, where she specialized in public relations and business strategy, advising major brands like Coca-Cola, Nissan, and Allstate. She has contributed more than 100 articles and chapters to numerous PR and coaching books and serves on multiple boards, including the International Coaching Federation (ICF) global board, Bradley University’s Board of Trustees, the editorial board for the choice magazine for professional coaches, and the national committee for Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. Cheryl also holds the ICF master certified coach and PRSA's accredited in public relations credential, distinguishing her as a leader in both PR and executive coaching.
