About me
The National Association of Counsel for Children (NACC) is dedicated to advancing the rights, well-being, and opportunities of children impacted by the child welfare system through access to high-quality legal representation. NACC promotes excellence in legal representation through Child Welfare Law Specialist (CWLS) certification, publication of Child Welfare Law and Practice (known as the “Red Book”), and training, such as the Red Book Training Course (online), as well as live Red Book training and custom trainings. NACC works to build community among child law practitioners through membership and NACC’s annual National Child Welfare Law Conference. NACC advances justice by advocating for children’s rights in policy advocacy and amicus briefs, including children’s right to counsel. NACC believes the child welfare court system works best when all parties – children, parents, and social service agencies – are represented by high-quality, well-trained lawyers.
